Physical activity and nutrition have been an important part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up, my parents instilled healthy eating and physical activity into my everyday life. As I grew older I adopted these ideas and developed a passion for not only carrying out these components in my own life, but also the desire to help other individuals to make positive lifestyle changes and implement healthy eating and physical activity in their own lives. This fueled my choice to pursue a degree in exercise physiology.

While earning my degree I had the opportunity to work in a weight management research center at the University of Pittsburgh. Within a week of being at the research center and working with the participants, I knew it was a great fit and wanted to make a career out of it. I loved that I was able to coach participants through their weight loss and help them to adopt healthier eating and physical activity! I went on to work on several weight loss research studies at the center and develop, implement and run a weight management program at a fitness center on campus for the faculty and staff.

The ability to improve your life through healthy lifestyle changes such as nutrition and physical activity is a tremendous gift! I am very excited to be able to continue my work in weight management with the participants of the PEIA weight management program!
